Tyler's first t-ball practice

August 16th~
Tyler had his first t-ball practice. The class is for 2 and 3 year olds, so we aren't really supposed to expect him to turn into a pro after this. He had a great time, although chasing him around the basketball court was pretty exhausting for mom too. He's not entirely into structured activities just yet, so he kept trying to run over to the soccer camp that was going on on the other side of the basketball court.

August 3rd

Dave and I made the rookie mistake of thinking that just because Tyler was being quiet, didn't mean he wasn't getting himself into trouble. We were only standing about 10 feet away when he got a little carried away with the sun block.

The boys wore matching outfits when we went to Grandma Scott's house to go swimming.

Tyler couldn't wait to get in the pool.

Tyler's day at the airport

July 26th ~
Tyler spent the morning at Deer Valley Airport with his Grandpa O'Day and got an up close and personal look at some airplanes. He even got to sit in one! It was a very exciting day for him and all he could say the entire day was "go see airplanes with Grandpa."

4th of July 2008

This year we decided to spend our 4th of July at home. Some might call the inflatable pool and the slip n slide a little "whiskey tango" but we had a good time. We were hoping to let Tyler stay up to watch fireworks but, thanks to our wonderful monsoon season, a storm rolled in and the fireworks didn't start until 9:30 that night and he was already in bed. Maybe next year...

Garrett's dedication

June 2008

We went swimming for the first time this summer at the end of June. It was Garrett's first time ever in the pool and he loved it! Tyler had a great time as well and literally counts down the days until we go to grandma's house to go swimming.

Our Colorado Trip

We spent our summer vacation in Estes Park, CO again this past June. The weather was beautiful and we even got snow for a few days. We stayed in two different cabins while on our trip. The first was right on the river and had a beautiful view. The second was on the YMCA campus.

Garrett met his Papa Charlie, MirMir (as Tyler calls her), Uncle Jonathan and Aunt CiCi for the first time. Tyler of course had a blast. He got to the point where he would spot elk before we did. We went hiking a couple of times, but mostly just hung out and played with the kids. Tyler got to ride a pony for the very first time and loved it. He nearly tackled the girl at the stables because he wanted on the pony so badly.

All in all, it was a wonderful (but definitely exhausting) trip and it was great to take the boys to a new place.
